Wales vs England Betting

Wales’s performance in the Nations Cup won’t have inspirer much national confidence from the Welsh, but they will of course be looking to shock their neighbours in this encounter. They already sit rock bottom of Group G with a disappointing 0 points, but they will be hoping a new manager in the form of Gary Speed can propel them to success.

Wales vs England betting preview

They have managed to score only one goal in the qualifying stage and the scorer of that goal could really only be one man, one Gareth Bale. He has been outstanding in Europe so far this season for Tottenham and domestically has again played some outstanding football. So it makes sense that for his national side he is a pivotal player, and with the lack of a genuine goalscorer for the national side Bale is more important than ever. A bet on him scoring at any time against an England defence that just seems to leak goals to quick players like Bale can’t be far of the mark then.

England betting odds

England’s draw against Montenegro did cast doubts over England’s chance of qualification but one had to remember that when you are playing against an international quality team who decide to stick 10 men behind the ball at any given time, they are going to be difficult to break down. The three lions performance against better opposition in the form of Denmark has inspired confidence in the team, namely in the new young blood being brought through in the form of Ashley Young, Darren Bent, Michael Dawson, Glen Johnson and James Milner.

Darren Bent’s goal and the lack of fitness of Andy Carroll look set to earn him another starting place so therefore a bet on him scoring at any time against a shaky Wales defence could be worth a few quid. Wayne Rooney seems to be finding some kind of scoring form at the moment and therefore also looks worth a shout for a bet to be first goalscorer in this important fixture.

England are hard to look past for this fixture, however as always with England the odds are going to be discernibly poor so perhaps a bet on England drawing at half time and then going on to win could be a more profitable one!
