Ireland vs Macedonia Betting

Ireland will be looking to this as a game which they should win, at home to one of the weaker teams in the group after the high of winning the Nations Cup. Top goalscorer Robbie Keane will be out with injury though after only recently making a return to playing regular first team football in the premier league for West Ham. So striking duties will most likely fall down to Wolverhampton Wanderers lone striker Kevin Doyle, a man who while not being the most prolific of goal scorers is arguably one of the hardest working footballers around at the moment. Doyle will therefore be a good bet to score at any time in the fixture.

Apart from Doyle, players like Shay Given, Richard Dunne and new ROI star Darron Gibson will be most likely to be given a run out. And after Gibson’s outstanding performance in the Nations Cup he must be another who is worth a shout to score at any time in this fixture.

Macedonia

Macedonia sit second from bottom in Group B but are only 3 points behind the ROI. Their win against Andorra is hardly one that will turn any heads as they currently are sitting at the foot of the table with 0 points; however their more spirited performance against Armenia is something to take merit from. Macedonia’s stand out man is obviously Inter’s Goran Pandev, who noticeably is struggling to make an impact domestically, so will therefore will be out and ready for it on the International stage.

Pandev is the team’s top scorer at the moment and therefore is probably the safest bet if you going for an any time goalscorer in this team, however young Ivan Tričkovski could be a good outsider with quite long odds to score in this fixture.

Ireland will undoubtebly be out to win this game so the question is whether Macedonia will take the game to them or simply play for the draw, arguably whatever they do it is going to be  a difficult fixture that the home team will most probably come out winning.
