Denmark v Germany betting preview

Sunday 17th June 2012 – 19:45 GMT Venue: Lviv TV Coverage: ITV1

If Denmark are still in with a chance coming into the last game then they can look at the work they have done up until the Germany game with some success. In fact, if they do need a win to qualify and Germany are already confirmed as through then they may be able to sneak a win.

Their defence will probably be tested more than in the previous two games in this encounter. How they deal with Portugal will be some indication of how they will handle the Germans. If Ronaldo and Nani tear them apart then the collective German frontline probably will too. But if Kjaer and Agger are on form, and either Sorensen or Lindegaard in goal is inspired too, then they will be a tough nut to crack.

From then on it will be down to Eriksen and Bendtner to build on any platform given. Whether they are good enough will be tested here.

Denmark vs Germany odds

Germany will hope to be qualified by this game, but with the difficulty of the group they may well not be. If they are on four points a draw will guarantee them qualification. That will be the minimum of their expectations though, and they will definitely be aiming to finish top, which is meant to secure an easier draw.

And they fully well should be winning games against Denmark if they want to compete with Spain on a serious level. You would expect them to as well. Ozil, Klose, Gomez, Muller, Gotze, Podolski, Schweinstieger are just some of the names they will be piling forward for Jogi Loew’s team, and there are more in reserve.

Quality does tell over 90 mins, and with the speed and ferocity they attack with it’s unlikely that defences will be able to prevent them making a few chances per game. And with chances come goals.

As attacking as Germany are they will not strain themselves too hard in the last game of a group to stretch for four or five if they are cruising. As such if they are in control of the game it probably won’t be a high scoring one, just a comfortable one.

They should be in control of it too. Denmark may not be in the equation for qualification, and if they are they will be stretched in search of goals. As such, Germany will cut them open most likely. As a team who attacks with pace, and wants to be attacking non-stop, they will be able to counter in incomparable speed. Their attacking front line is full of pace, and Denmark do not have the ability to attack all out and contain such a good side.

That dominance should probably lead them to a clean sheet, with attack the best form of defence. Germany are too good for Denmark, and unless something outside of their control affects them this game is tied up.
